K40-E is a soft, semi-closed cell EPDM foam engineered for automotive- and enclosure-grade gasketing, where certified compliance and a low, consistent compression set are essential.

DETAILS
K40-E is a semi-closed cell EPDM foam (ASTM D1056 1A0) engineered for soft-compression sealing and gasketing where automotive- and enclosure-grade compliance is required. Its crushed-cell structure gives it a lower compression resistance and compression set than standard closed-cell EPDM, so it maintains a reliable seal across repeated compression cycles. K40-E carries UL 94 flammability listings alongside GMW, Chrysler, Ford, Toyota, and Hyundai automotive material approvals, and is rated for use across a broad range of NEMA enclosure types. Insul-Fab converts K40-E into continuous rolls, die-cut gaskets, and custom-fabricated parts up to 1.25" thick and 54" wide.
